Parker Brent Branding

Avalanche have recently completed the rebranding of Parker Brent Institute, an education centre who train and qualify staff for industries. Recently they’ve moved their focus towards the construction industry and wanted a refresh of their brand to work with their new company vision.
We took to the drawing board and after a few versions, came up with this colourful geometric look. Very architectural. Very ‘Melbourne’, you may say!

In other news, did you see the Chinese imitation of the Melbourne logo?

Classic Rods

classicRods_logo

Recently we created a logo for Classic Rods. They are a niche engineering company specialising in creating custom billet rods for classic cars (Specialised parts for classic car engines).

We created a versatile logo that referenced classic type and themes as well as incorporating the shape of their product in the logo. Secondary elements to the logo include a subtle shiny red ‘car body’ background. In a nifty trick, the logo can also be shortened to it’s initials (CR) by taking the last ‘C’ in Classic and the ‘R’ in Rods, allowing us two sizes of the logos.

Website to be developed soon!

Avalanche now in 3D…..Poster

Posted January 19 2010 | Avalanche Creative, Inspiration, Marketing, Projects | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , | 1 comment

We’ve been toying with this idea for months now, after doing a 3D poster for a client. Having a few spare 3D glasses left over, we thought we’d have a bit of fun and do our own marketing poster.

A bit dramatic perhaps but loads of fun, memorable and a great way to introduce our team and what we do.

*psst! We’re growing this year and adding a few more team members! Stay tuned*

To view in all its glory, you will need a pair of 3D (red green) cellophane glasses.

If you’re interested in seeing one in the flesh, please contact us and we’ll send one out!

Hive Building Design Management

hive_bc

Hive are an established architect and building design firm located not far from us. While they’ve been around for a while, they’ve never really had a proper name. Michael (Hive Director) came to us looking for a plan that would help his company move forward, including a new brand – something that was memorable and significant.

After our initial meetings and talking to Michael, we came up with the name Hive, which signifies what Hive is all about  -

1. Physical building and working together to build a home/space
2. Pulling the right team together to make it all happen.

We were hesitant to go too far into the ‘bee’ analogy (yellow, stripes, etc), so we approached it loosely: using the hexagonal shape of a honeycomb cell and mixing it with strong type to give the logo a foundation. Alongside the logotype is the trademark ‘hive’ pattern, which is an interlocking pattern of the Hive logo used as a secondary branding tool.

While the project is still in progress, the team are happy and really excited about Hive’s new future.
Stay tuned, website to come :)

Australia’s first Hybrid-Electric buses launched.

Avalanche Creative, together with the Department of Sustainability, Grenda and Ventura Buslines, have been working really hard to bring you the new hybrid electric buses! There are two of them, one for Ventura and one for Grenda, both using different Hybrid-Electric technology. These are the first of their kind in Australia and are part of the Government’s plan to increase the use of low emission vehicles.

A big party was thrown at Essendon Airport earlier this year to mark the launch and was met with much support and press coverage (yay!)

From the press release:
“It is estimated this hybrid-electric technology will provide a saving of around 20 per cent on fuel and greenhouse gas emissions compared to a conventional diesel bus.”

Grenda Corporation will trial a hybrid bus along its 900 route from Stud Park to Caulfield while Ventura Buses will conduct a trial along its 250 route from Garden City to La Trobe University.

**update**
Ernie saw the bus for the first time when she was scootering down Princes Hwy last weekend! Looks good!
